Susan Satogata  After earning a BFA, BED and Professional Certificate in Art Education at the University of Hawaii, Susan Satogata taught art on Oahu for the Department of Education. She has fond childhood memories of painting, sculpting and creating playful pieces with her sister Lynn Muramoto. Susan's delightful spirit shines through her watercolors and her tender brush strokes.

Molly McKenzie studied at the Emily Carr School of Art in Vancouver, B.C. Canada in the1970’s. In 2003 she moved to San Francisco Bay Area and took up painting in watercolors. She subsequently studied with many artists there and learned her craft over 11 years.
In 2016, Molly and her husband Brian moved to Kaua’i and were awed by Lawai International Center and began to volunteer. Molly was inspired to paint a series of images of the 88 shrines and their surroundings.
 
"Light of Lawai” photograph notecard.  As the people of Hawaii opened their hearts, the universe revealed its wonders. This was a miraculous moment: light and hearts as one, captured on film as 250 people in gratitude and peace walked along a hillside in a valley named Lawai. On June 11, 2006, during the Pilgrimage for Compassion at the 88 shrines of Lawai at 3:49 pm on the beginning and end of the walk's pathway, two beams of light poured from above. Cynthia Riedel of Kilauea, Kauai, captured this universal opening with her Nikon 4300 digital camera and shares it with you unaltered. 

Nick Galante captures a transcending moment in this photo when all the elements are one. The 500 candlelights on the hillside of the 88 shrines creates a heartwarming glow.  "Illuminating the World with Compassion".
